What’s New?
- Great Falls Forum: Public Art in LA, Thursday, January 20th @ 12pm (Virtual) — In this Great Falls Forum panel discussion, Conrad will provide an update on the next phase of the public art plans for Lewiston and Auburn and lessons learned over the last three years during the implementation of the $75,000 Creative Communities = Economic Development grant awarded by the Maine Arts Commission in 2019.
- Recognizing Anne Kemper’s Community Contributions — Through a proclamation, Mayor Cayer recently highlighted the long-term career of adult education leader Anne Kemper who has also been a strong, engaged supporter of the Lewiston Public Library. Thank you, Anne, for your years of dedicated service.
- Library closed for general access — Due to the increase in positive cases in the community, the Library is closed to the public for general access. LPL To Go door pickup will still be offered throughout the day during normal Library business hours. We will reevaluate prior to January 8, 2022 and continue to communicate any updates. This Week at LPL
- ArtVan ArtBags are Back — ArtBags are an art kit in a bag: versatile art projects that promote creativity, problem solving, emotional expression, dexterity, and fun! These kits work for ages 7-14, but some younger children may enjoy the projects as well, with help from an adult.
- Book Boxes for Kids — We are offering a limited number of free book boxes with the theme of “Starry Night.” These boxes are designed to promote reading and math skills for children ages 7-12.
- The Children’s Department is Open by Appointment — We have time slots available for much of the day–just give us a call or email to schedule an appointment. 207-513-3133 or LPLKids@LewistonMaine.gov
