What’s New?
  • Library closed for general access — The Library remains closed to the public for general access. We will reevaluate next week with a tentative reopening set for January 18, 2022, and will continue to communicate any updates.
  • LearningExpress — This is an incredible, FREE resource offered by the Digital Maine Library that has a little something for everyone!

 

This Week at LPL
  • Winter Animals, starting Thursday, January 13th @ 6:30pm (Virtual) — Join Ms. Alexis and their animal friends this month on the Lewiston Public Library YouTube channel and LPL Kids Facebook page, as they explore the strategies different Maine animals use to live through the winter.
  • Virtual Storytime, every Tuesday @ 10:30am (Virtual) — Virtual storytime offers the ability to safely participate while seeing the storyteller’s facial expressions, helping children further understand the impact of the book’s emotional content.
  • The Children’s Department is Open by Appointment — We have time slots available for much of the day–just give us a call or email to schedule an appointment. 207-513-3133 or LPLKids@LewistonMaine.gov

 

This Week at LPL
  • Teen Library Ambassadors, Wednesday, January 19th @ 3:30pm (Virtual) — Become a Teen Library Ambassador and make change at your library!
  • Great Falls Forum: Public Art in LA, Thursday, January 20th @ 12pm (Virtual) — In this Great Falls Forum panel discussion, Conrad will provide an update on the next phase of the public art plans for Lewiston and Auburn and lessons learned over the last three years during the implementation of the $75,000 Creative Communities = Economic Development grant awarded by the Maine Arts Commission in 2019.
  • Author Talk with Michèle Laliberté en Français, Friday, January 21st @ 3:30pm (Virtual) — Author Michèle Laliberté will speak about her debut novel, Nativa, in a conversation with Museum L-A Board Member Camden Martin. This virtual event hosted by the Lewiston Public Library and Museum L-A will be conducted entirely in French.
