  • Kids’ Nature BackpacksBorrow one of 3 themed packs loaded up with books, tools, and activities that will help you get outside and get hands on with nature!
This Week at LPL
  • Tea Party and Book Discussion, Tuesday, May 10th @ 4pm — Join us in Callahan Hall (3rd floor of Lewiston Public Library) to enjoy a cup of tea and talk about our favorite moments in Front Desk. Everyone will leave with their own glitter pencil. All ages are welcome! No registration required.
  • The Art of Letter Writing, Saturday, May 14th @ 11am — Join us in Callahan Hall for a more formal way to connect with others through the art of letter writing. Write a letter to a family member, to thank someone, or make a difference in the world! All supplies provided, including postage for one letter per person and addresses provided for local nursing homes. This event is for all ages!

  • Author Talk with Jennifer Dupree, Tuesday, May 17th @ 5:30pm — Author, librarian, and freelance-editor Jennifer Dupree will be celebrating the release of her novel The Miraculous Flight of Owen Leach. This free, public program will also include a book sale and signing.
  • Front Desk Trivia Night, Wednesday, May 18th @ 4:30pm (virtual) — Grab some snacks and get ready to be quizzed! Gather your friends and family around any device that can connect to the internet to play our quiz game.
  • Great Falls Forum, Thursday, May 19th @ 12pm (virtual) — Our next Great Falls Forum will feature moderator Judith Meyer, Executive Editor for the Sun Journal, Kennebec Journal, and Morning Sentinel, alongside David Chittim of the Androscoggin Historical Society, and Steve Collins, State House Reporter for the Sun Journal, with a talk entitled “175 Years of Recorded History—Through Journalism.”
  • Teen Tabletop RPGs, Thursday, May 19th @ 4pm — This month we will be playing two sessions of THE QUIET YEAR, a map game where players define the struggles of a community living after the collapse of civilization, and attempt to build something good within their quiet year.
