- Teen Tabletop RPGs Thursday, July 7th at 4:00pm — Join us on Thursday, July 7th in the teen lounge for Teen Tabletop RPGs! This week we will be playing our second session of MASKS, a superhero roleplaying game in which a team of young heroes fights villains, saves lives, and tries to figure out who they are — noble paragons? Dark avengers? Or regular kids? New players are welcome – you do not have to have played the first session to join. No previous RPG experience is required, and all supplies will be provided – just bring yourself and your creative mind!
- Children’s Movie Matinee Saturday, July 9th at 11:00am — Beat the heat by attending a family-friendly movie matinee at the Lewiston Public Library. Children of all ages and their families are welcome. No registration required! The movie viewing will be on the big screen in Callahan Hall, located on the third floor of the library.
Next Week at LPL
- Maine Community Solar Thursday, July 12th at 5:30pm — We will host Maine Community Solar for an information session in Callahan Hall AND streaming virtually on Zoom and Facebook. Registration is only required for Zoom participation. This free, public program will cover what community solar is, how it works, and what the benefits are to Maine residents. With solar farms going up across the state and flyers arriving weekly in the mail, it can be difficult to parse what all this information means and how the average citizen can take advantage to have a lower monthly electric bill. After the presentation, there will be an option to ask additional questions. If you think you might be interested in participating in community solar, bring a copy of your most recent electric bill and get one-on-one assistance with signing up for a program that is the best fit for you.
- Read ME Book Discussion: “Sigh, Gone” Wednesday, July 13th at 5:30pm — We will host a discussion of Phuc Tran’s coming-of-age memoir Sigh, Gone, the nonfiction selection for this year’s Read ME statewide summer reading program. This in-person event will take place in the library’s Couture Room. Advance registration is required.
- Climate Clean Up with Ms. Alexis Thursday, July 14th at 4:00pm — Come learn about the impact of pollution on our oceans with a series of hands-on activities! We will learn how oil spills and plastic affect wildlife by cleaning up an oil spill. Then we’ll pretend to be turtles and navigate a pudding “ocean” to hunt for gummy fish, while avoiding dangerous candy “plastics.” The Climate Clean-Up will take place in Callahan Hall. Children of all ages and their families are welcome. No registration is required.
