What’s New?
  • Delayed Opening. Please note that the library will be opening at 12pm on Monday, May 22nd due to a staff training.
  • Trees are Blooming at the Library. Came take a look next time you come to the library.
  • Hello from Lynn Plourde, author of Maxi’s Secrets.
  • It’s a Mystery! Check out our display about Mysteries on the first floor. Choose from timeless classics, gumshoe detective stories, and murder mysteries.
  • Adult Programs and Events Survey. We are interested to hear what times of day and days of the week work best for you as well as the types of programs you like to attend and how you typically hear about them.

 

This Week @ LPL
  • Kids Book Club: Maxi’s Secrets, Tuesday, May 16th at 4pm. Let’s review the book together, and have an ice cream party!
  • Crafting Circle, Wednesday, May 17th at 4:30pm. Lewiston Public Library is hosting a crafting circle for people to come and bring a craft to work on. Come, meet, and learn from like-minded people.
  • Great Falls Forum, Thursday, May 18th at 12pm. In her Great Falls Forum talk, Margie Patlak will describe how she came to write her memoir, More Than Meets the Eye: Exploring Nature and Loss on the Coast of Maine, and read a few excerpts that illustrate how many facets of the natural world speak a hidden language that can be translated by scientific knowledge and reflection.
  • Small Off Things with Suzanne Farrell Smith, Friday, May 19th at 2pm. The librry will host Suzanne Farrell Smith to discuss her book of essays entitled: Small Off Things. This free, public program will take place at 2 PM in the Jeanne Couture Room.
  • Maxi’s Celebration with Author Lynn Plourde, Saturday, May 20th at 11am. Join us for an author talk, food, book giveaways and signing, and activities for kids related to this year’s community read book Maxi’s Secrets.

 

Next Week @ LPL
  • Teen Yoga for Stress, Wednesday, May 24th at 3:30pm. This series is designed to support teens in building skills they can use to relax, manage stress and connect with each other.
  • Youth Trading Card Game Club, May 25th at 3:30pm. Games include Pokémon, Magic: the Gathering, and more! Library staff and volunteers will be available to teach new players and coach developing ones. 
  • The library will be CLOSED on Saturday, May 27th and Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen for our normal hours on Tuesday, May 30th at 10am.
