What’s New? 
  • We Have Eclipse Glasses! Starting Wednesday, the library will be handing out free Eclipse glasses on a first come, first serve basis. Due to a small supply, there will be a limit of two glasses handed out per person. Eclipse glasses may not be reserved in advance. 
  • Book Reviews Due Soon. The deadline for kids to turn in book reviews for a chance to win prizes is April 1st! Kids can win a brand new Kindle Fire tablet or a bike!

 

This Week @ LPL
  • MaineTransNet Teen Tabletop, Monday, March 25th at 4:15pm. We’re hosting a series of one-shot tabletop roleplaying games in person in the IDEA Lab. Supplies will be provided – just bring yourself and your creative mind!
  • Teen Video Games: Tournament, Wednesday, March 27th at 3pm. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Tournament! Winners will receive a $25 gift card!
  • Throwback Thursday Movie Matinee, Thursday, March 28th at 4pm. Come enjoy the 1983 classic film, WarGames, where a supercomputer asks a teenage hacker, “Shall we play a game?”, only to learn the stakes were too high a little too late.

 

Next Week @ LPL
  • Scholarship Info Night, Monday, April 1st at 5:30pm. The Library will host the Maine Community Foundation to present its scholarship opportunity for non-traditional students. The scholarship supports a range of training, including attending two- and four-year colleges and universities, completing a certificate and other non-degree programs, or attempting a self-directed learning experience with a clear goal.
  • Teen & Friends Magic: the Gathering Club, Tuesday, April 2nd at 3pm. New players will have the chance to make their first starter deck and receive guidance on how to play and test their skills against other teens!
  • Sadie’s Fiber Arts Club, Wednesday, April 3rd at 3:30pm. Kids will have the opportunity to create a hands-on fiber arts craft with local fiber artist, Sadie, in the Children’s Department at the Library. 
  • Little Keepsakes: Helping Hands Kitchen Towels, Friday, April 5th at 10am. Caregivers will be able to create a personalized keepsake kitchen towel using the handprints of their young children.
