What’s New?
- Lewiston Public Library is Hiring! The Lewiston Public Library is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Lending Services Librarian. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Circulation/Lending Services Division and is a member of the library’s leadership and management team.
- Maine Wildlife Park discount passes at the library. Each member of your group (3 years old and up) using this ticket will be charged a discounted admission fee of $5.00 per person at the gatehouse. The discount ticket must be reserved in advance and is one per person for the season.
This Week @ LPL
- Blockbuster Movie: Barbie, Tuesday, May 28th at 4pm. This event will showcase a movie that, when introduced to theaters, drew large crowds to see it. This event will be free and open to the public. Participants are free to bring their favorite movie snacks with them.
- An Evening with Jacqueline Woodson, Thursday, May 30th at 5:30pm. Join us for a public event in Callahan Hall with #1 New York Times bestselling author Jacqueline Woodson, winner of the National Book Award, recipient of the MacArthur “Genius” Grant, and former Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. Woodson will be joined in conversation with Director and Founder of Diverse BookFinder, Dr. Krista Aronson.
- Art Walk, Friday, May 31st at 5pm. Head out on the town for Art Walk LA to experience ART, MUSIC & MORE on the Final Friday of the month from May – September from 5 – 8 pm!
Next Week @ LPL
- Summer Teen Video Games, starting Monday, June 3rd at 4pm. Come to the library every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 to 6pm for some video games!
- Summer Teen & Friends Magic: the Gathering, starting Tuesday, June 4th at 4pm. Bring a friend and play against one another or other challengers. New players will be able to receive guidance on how to play and get a chance to receive their very own deck to keep and take home. The Magic: the Gathering club welcomes players of all skill levels.
- Sadie’s Fiber Arts Club: Embroidery, Wednesday, June 5th at 3:30pm. We will use burlap cloth, an embroidery hoop, embroidery needles, and a variety of threads and yarns to learn beginner embroidery skills to create our own designs!
- Baby Keepsakes: Following in Your Footsteps, Friday, June 7th at 10am. Come create a personalized keepsake of your baby’s footprint on top of your shoe print in honor of Father’s Day.
