What’s New?
- Lewiston Public Library is Hiring.
- Lending Services Librarian: This full time position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Circulation/Lending Services Division and is a member of the library’s leadership and management team.
- Adult Services Library Technician: The full time library technician should have a high level of computer and technology literacy to include social media, newsletters and website development/maintenance. Responsibilities include planning and executing programs and creating media and static displays of information and presentation materials for on-going and up-coming programs.
- Building Monitor: This part time position is responsible for monitoring the safety and behavior of visitors inside the library building and on library grounds. They represent the Library as a familiar, friendly face that is frequently visible to patrons in all parts of the building.
- The Library will be closed on Saturday, August 31st through Monday, September 2nd for Labor Day. We will reopen at 9:30am on Tuesday, September 3rd.
- Emerging Butterflies. Be sure to visit the Children’s Room this week as our butterflies emerge from their cocoons!
- Interlibrary Loan Returns September 3rd. The Maine State Library has announced that Interlibrary Loan requesting will resume on September 3rd. More information to come!

- Teen Summer Art Club, Monday, August 26th at 2pm. Teens can work on any artistic project they wish. Supplies will be free and available for all teens.
- Art Walk & Book Sale, Friday, August 30th at 5pm. Head out on the town for Art Walk LA to experience ART, MUSIC & MORE on the Final Friday of the month!
Next Week @ LPL
- Baby Sensory Playtime, Thursday, September 5th at 10am. Babies and their caregivers will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of sensory toys and socialize with other families with young children.
