What’s New? 
  • Memorial Day Closure. The library will be closed between Saturday, May 25th and Monday, May 27th. We will reopen at 9:30am on Tuesday, May 28th.
  • Where Are You From? As part of our Lewiston/Auburn Read initiative, we want to know where you are from or where you feel connected! Come to the Children’s Department and add your dot to the world map. 
  • New Displays in Children’s Room. New displays featuring bugs and googly eyes.

 

This Week @ LPL
  • Sugar in the Pan Concert, Thursday, May 23rd at 6:30pm. Vermont Folklife’s “Sugar in the Pan” Trad Band is coming to Maine!  After learning traditional Québecois repertoire from Pascal Gemme (of Genticorum) and Véronique Plasse (of Bon Débarras) with the Young Tradition Vermont Touring Group, these superstar teenage musicians will bring an exciting and diverse program of music to Maine. 

 

Next Week @ LPL
  • Blockbuster Movie: Barbie, Tuesday, May 28th at 4pm. This event will showcase a movie that, when introduced to theaters, drew large crowds to see it. This event will be free and open to the public. Participants are free to bring their favorite movie snacks with them.
  • An Evening with Jacqueline Woodson, Thursday, May 30th at 5:30pm. Join us for a public event in Callahan Hall with #1 New York Times bestselling author Jacqueline Woodson, winner of the National Book Award, recipient of the MacArthur “Genius” Grant, and former Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. Woodson will be joined in conversation with Director and Founder of Diverse BookFinder, Dr. Krista Aronson.
  • Art Walk, Friday, May 31st at 5pm. Head out on the town for Art Walk LA to experience ART, MUSIC & MORE on the Final Friday of the month from May – September from 5 – 8 pm!
