What’s New?
- Sci-Fi September on Kanopy. This carefully curated lineup includes stories with complex plots and imaginative storytelling exploring technology, space exploration, and different realities. Whether they depict alternate realities or exciting space adventures, these films encourage deep thinking and spark curiosity about what lies beyond what we know of the universe today.
- Welcoming Fall in Children’s Room. Are you ready for cooler days and crisp nights? Changing leaves, cozy sweaters, and pumpkins? Then check out the new book display in the Children’s Department full of stories to welcome fall!
- Lewiston Public Library is Hiring.
- Lending Services Librarian: This full time position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Circulation/Lending Services Division and is a member of the library’s leadership and management team.
- Building Monitor: This part time position is responsible for monitoring the safety and behavior of visitors inside the library building and on library grounds. They represent the Library as a familiar, friendly face that is frequently visible to patrons in all parts of the building.
This Week @ LPL
- ArtVan, Wednesday, September 11th at 3:30pm. All art supplies will be provided. ArtVan programs engage all age groups, encourage time outside and reduce screen time, help youth stay connected, diminish stress, and provide release for unvented expressions of emotions, such as loss and confusion.
- Teen Art Club, Thursday, September 12th at 4pm. Teens can work on any artistic project they wish. Supplies will be free and available for all teens.
Next Week @ LPL
- Teen Button Making, Thursday, September 19th at 4pm. Teens in our community will be able to come to the 2nd floor IDEA Lab to make their own buttons to take home and proudly wear!
- Baby Footprints Keepsakes, Friday, September 20th at 10am. Caregivers and their infants will be able to create a baby footprints keepsake using the imprints of their children’s feet on salt dough. This activity is recommended for caregivers with children ages 0-24 months old.
