Book Challenges in Maine and the USA
Join Maine State Librarian Lori Fisher in conversation around book bans, censorship, and intellectual freedom protections in the region and the nation.
Lori Fisher is entering her third year as Maine State Librarian, having previously worked the Assistant State Librarian in New Hampshire since 2019. She served the Bow, NH community for over 11 years as the Baker Free Library director, and was a museum curator at various New York and New Hampshire museums prior to moving into library work full time. She continues to work as an ALA Policy Corps fellow since 2019, and is actively involved in the work around Unite Against Book Bans (UABB). Lori is currently the Treasurer of the Chief of State Library Agencies (COSLA) national organization, and is a member of the ALA Working Group on the federal Museum and Library Service Act reauthorization.
