Learn How to Make Yogurt

The Lewiston Public Library will host Master Food Preserver Claire Schreiber for an interactive class, Learn How to Make Yogurt, on Wednesday, June 4th from 5pm to 7pm in Callahan Hall.
Unlock the secrets of delicious, homemade yogurt guided by Cooperative Extension Master Food Preserver Claire Schreiber. Yogurt is a great introduction into the world of fermentation! Learn about food fermentation and how to make your own dairy yogurt from scratch. This session will cover all the essential steps from selecting your milk to storing your yogurt, ensuring you can go home and create your own homemade fermented delight using common household supplies. Please note, this class will cover cow’s milk yogurt, but the process and skills acquired can be applied to other varieties of yogurt.

Claire Schreiber has been a Master Food Preserver with the UMaine Cooperative Extension since 2018 and has enjoyed making homemade yogurt for even longer! She works in Brunswick, Maine where she also lives with her family.
