The Lewiston Public Library is excited to announce a new addition to their collection: LPL is now circulating Bluetooth Aux Adapters! These devices are designed to connect wired headphones to Bluetooth-capable devices or Bluetooth headphones to devices not otherwise equipped with Bluetooth capability. The latter function makes these devices a perfect complement to the Library’s Playaway audiobooks, which do not have built-in Bluetooth.

The Library’s annual objectives for 2025 include the goal to “introduce new types of borrowing materials to reduce barriers to accessing information.” Introducing Bluetooth adapters to the Library’s circulating collection contributes toward their achievement of this goal.

LPL’s Bluetooth Aux Adapters will circulate just like library books, with a checkout period of two weeks and the option of renewal so long as they are not being requested by another patron. Any Lewiston or Auburn Public Library patron with an account in good standing may check these devices out.  However, they must be checked out from and returned to the Lewiston Public Library Lending Desk on the Library’s first floor.

The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street. For more information or to check out one of these device yourself, contact the Lewiston Public Library’s Lending Department at 513-3134 or LPLCirc@lewistonmaine.gov.
