Lewiston High School Soccer Coach Mike McGraw will be our featured speaker for the February Great Falls Forum on Thurs., Feb. 23rd at 12 noon in LPL’s Callahan Hall with a talk entitled “Soccer Stories: Reflections on the LHS Dream Team.”

In 2015, Coach McGraw and his scrappy crew of multicultural footballers brought home the first Maine State Championship in Soccer for a Lewiston High School team. In the process they brought our city together in support of their efforts and won over the hearts of many in their march to the final match.

Mike will reflect on his 34 seasons coaching soccer at LHS and the magical confluence of skill and personalities that combined to see his Blue Devil squad ranked nationally (only the third time ever a Maine team has achieved a national ranking!) in addition to garnering the top state honors.

The Great Falls Forum is a monthly, brown-bag speaker series featuring statewide and regional leaders in public policy, business, academia and the arts. The programs are free, open to all and no reservations are required. Coffee, tea and bottled water are provided for a donation at the event. The Forum is a co-sponsorship of the Sun Journal, Bates College and LPL.
