AARP Program: Fraud & Scam Prevention
On Monday, April 23rd, the Lewiston Public Library will host longtime AARP volunteer Louise Theberge for a talk on common scams and how members of the public can take steps to protect their private information and finances. The free public program will take place in the Library’s 1st floor Jeanne Couture Room from 3-4 PM.
This discussion will cover a multitude of scams and participants will be given informational booklets with further tips and resources, followed by time for Q&A.
AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, social welfare organization that, according to its mission, “helps people turn their goals and dreams into real possibilities, strengthens communities and fights for the issues that matter most to families — such as health care, employment and income security, and protection from financial abuse.” This program is offered free of charge and no registration is required.
