Our great state has a history of producing leaders of the highest caliber. From Speaker of the U.S. House Thomas Brackett Reed to Senators Margaret Chase Smith and Olympia Snowe, we are able to look on our national contributions with pride. And right up there in the top tier is Senator George J. Mitchell!

For the opening session of this year’s Great Falls Forum season on Tues., Sept. 15th at 12 noon in Callahan Hall, we will be featuring Senator Mitchell talking about his most recent book, a memoir entitled, The Negotiator.  The book covers an extraordinary life which began in the ‘Head of Falls’ section of Waterville and took him to the highest levels of world leadership in business, politics and sports.

Copies of The Negotiator will be available for sale at the talk. Following his presentation, the Senator will be conducting a book-signing.

Admission is free to all Forum events and no reservations are required. This program is a bring-your-own brown-bag lunch event.  Coffee, tea and bottled water will be available on site at the library.

The Great Falls Forum is co-sponsored by the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce, Bates College, Lewiston Public Library and the Sun Journal. The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street.
