BUTTERFLIES IN THE LIBRARY!

Throughout the 2026 Summer Reading season we will be celebrating butterflies in the Lewiston Public Library Children’s Department! 🦋
There will be a different butterfly-themed take & make activity kit available for children to pick up on the 3rd floor each month from June through August.
June’s take & make will be sun print butterflies using photoreactive paper. July’s take & make will be scratch art butterfly masks and August’s take & make will feature the supplies to create beaded butterflies.
In August children will be able to choose one of two free books about butterflies to keep, to correspond with the arrival of live Painted Lady caterpillars in the Children’s Department.
Take & make kits are free and will be available at one per child as supplies last. No reservations. First come first served.
There is no registration required to participate.
The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street.
More information is available by contacting the Lewiston Public Library at 513-3133 or LPLKids@lewistonmaine.gov.
