Genre Roulette: Science Fiction Book Club

Lewiston Public Library’s Genre Roulette Book Club samples genres by focusing on a different genre each season: join for one season or come to them all! This spring, we will be reading and discussing Science Fiction. We will meet monthly in the Couture Room from 5:30 to 6:30pm on Thursdays April 16th and May 21st.
On April 16th, we’ll meet to discuss Recursion by Blake Crouch. New York City cop Barry Sutton investigates the devastating phenomenon the media has dubbed False Memory Syndrome—a mysterious affliction that drives its victims mad with memories of a life they never lived.
On May 21st, we’ll meet to discuss Automatic Noodle by Annalee Newitz. It’s a cozy near-future novella about a crew of leftover robots opening their very own restaurant for the humans of San Francisco, who are recovering from a devastating war.
This book club is recommended for ages 18+. If you need help locating a copy of any of these titles, please contact our Lending Services Department at 513-3134 or visit the lending desk on the library’s first floor.
The Lewiston Public Library is located downtown at 200 Lisbon Street at the corner of Pine Street. More information on this program is available by contacting the Lewiston Public Library at 513-3134 or LPLCirc@lewistonmaine.gov.
