Horror Book Club

Join us at the Lewiston Public Library this fall for Horror Book Club! We will meet monthly in the Couture Room from 5:30 to 6:30pm on the following Thursdays: September 18th, October 16th, and November 20th.
On September 18th, we’ll meet to discuss Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. A reimagining of the classic gothic suspense novel follows the experiences of a courageous socialite in 1950s Mexico who is drawn into the treacherous secrets of an isolated mansion.
On October 16th, we’ll meet to discuss The Only One Left by Riley Sager. In 1983, home-health aide Kit McDeere arrives at a decaying Hope’s End to care for Lenora Hope, helping her write about the events leading up to her family’s massacre in 1929, and soon discovers this seemingly harmless woman could be far more dangerous than she first thought.
On November 20th, we’ll meet to discuss The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones. This novel follows four American Indian men after a disturbing event from their youth puts them in a desperate struggle for their lives. Tracked by an entity bent on revenge, these childhood friends are helpless as the culture and traditions they left behind catch up to them in a violent, vengeful way.
