MTN Teen Tabletop Tuesdays
Calling all adventurers and explorers!
This fall, LPL Teen and MaineTransNet Youth are joining up to host monthly tabletop roleplaying sessions, on the 3rd Tuesday from 3-5pm in person in the LPL teen space. All supplies will be provided and no previous RPG experience is required – just bring yourself and your creative mind!

What are tabletop roleplaying games?
Typically abbreviated as TTRPGs, also known as a pen-and-paper role-playing games, tabletop roleplaying games are a form of role-playing game (RPG) in which the participants describe their characters’ actions through speech. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a set formal system of rules and guidelines such as dice rolls, etc. Within the rules, players have the freedom to improvise; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the game.
What are some of the games we play?
While Dungeons & Dragons is one of the most commonly known example of a TTRPG, D&D games typically require a set group of players who meet regularly over multiple sessions to complete an adventure, known as a campaign, and can be complicated for beginners to learn. While running a D&D campaign in this program is not out of the question if we develop a core group of regular players who express interest in, it, we are currently running a series of simpler “one-shot” games that are easy to learn and play in 1-2 hour sessions. This program is open to teens ages 13-19 and is a safe space for everyone, regardless of race, color, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, ancestry, national origin, or physical or mental ability.
