PRESERVING THE HARVEST WORKSHOP
Registration Full
Lewiston Public Library is happy to announce that another Hands-On Food Preservation Workshop will be returning this fall due to popular demand. This time we will demonstrate the pressure-cooking canning method. This event is free to the public and will take place on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 3:30 to 6:30 PM in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library.
Ever wonder how to preserve all those great fall vegetables? This hands-on food preservation workshop, taught by UMaine Extension volunteers and staff, teaches you the basic steps for canning. Participants will receive a “Preserving the Harvest” food preservation packet which includes: recommended methods for preserving foods, the latest and safest recipes, info about equipment safety, and how to check for properly sealed jars. Please bring a potholder with you to the workshop. All other supplies will be provided to attendees. Registration is required to participate in this event due to limited space. To register for this event visit our website.
