What’s New?
  • Choose Friends of the Lewiston Library when Checking out on Amazon Smile. When you do, 0.5% of your eligible purchases are donated to the Friends, a non-profit organization that assists the Library with facility, service, and resource development. There is no cap on how much they will donate!
  • It’s DINOvember in the Children’s Room. Come check out a dinosaur book!
  • National Book Award Winners on Display. We’re featuring books that have won the National Book Award for Fiction—the literary equivalent of winning the Oscar for Best Picture. The display features winners from 2000-2021 along with the 5 finalists for 2022.
This Week at LPL
  • MTN Teen Tabletop Tuesdays, Tuesday, November 15th at 3pm. LPL Teen and MaineTransNet Youth are joining up to host monthly tabletop roleplaying sessions in the LPL teen space. All supplies will be provided and no previous RPG experience is required – just bring yourself and your creative mind!
  • Crafting Circle, Wednesday, November 16th at 4pm. Have a craft you started that is now collecting dust? We are hosting a crafting circle for people to come and bring a craft to work on. Come, meet, and learn from like-minded people. Some crafting supplies will be available but individuals are strongly encouraged to bring their own projects and necessary supplies.
  • Friends of the Library Annual Meeting, Wednesday, November 16th at 5:30pm. Join the Friends of the Lewiston Public Library for a talk featuring Jeri Maurer, Volunteer President of the Board of Directors of the Stanton Bird Club, for a talk entitled, “Thorncrag – A Celebration of Its 100-Year History.” This free, public program will take place in Callahan Hall at the library.
  • Speculative Fiction Book Group, Thursday, November 17th at 5:30pm. Our November selection is This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone, a science fiction story. Discussion will be led by a Lewiston Public Librarian and will feature open-ended questions and the opportunity for analysis and debate.
Next Week at LPL
  • Baby Storytime, every Tuesday at 10:15am. Enjoy an interactive storytime with your baby that includes early literacy fun with books, songs, rhymes and body movement. Play and social time immediately follow the program.
  • Preschool Storytime, every Tuesday at 11:15am. Enjoy an interactive storytime for some fun with books, songs, and body movement while building early literacy skills. Siblings are always welcome.
  • The Library will be closing at 5pm on Wednesday, November 23rd and will be closed on November 24th and 25th for Thanksgiving.
