What’s New?
  • Preschool Backpacks. These three backpacks focus on concepts like shapes, colors and counting that include related books and activities. Each preschool backpack is designed to help early learners with Kindergarten readiness and is geared toward ages 3 – 6. 
  • POSTPONED: The Balance of Nature: Predators, Tuesday, April 18th at 2pm. This event will include live animals, activities, and discuss predators in the context of the food web, natural cycles, and habitat loss.
  • Parable Path Discussion Project, starting Tuesday, March 14th at 5:30pm. The Lewiston Public Library will host a three-session Discussion Project this spring entitled “What if community is the key to our resilience?” facilitated by Samara Cole Doyon.
  • Outreach Program Relaunches. This free program is open to any residents of Lewiston who are physically unable to come into the building. Those in either private settings or group facilities are welcome to apply.

 

This Week @ LPL
  • Black History Month Film and Discussion: Till, Tuesday, February 28th at 4pm. The City of Lewiston Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office is highlighting Black History Month with a special screening and discussion on the 2022 film Till.
  • Teen Yoga, Wednesday, March 1st at 3:30pm. Teen Yoga class continues in March! We will focus on simple breathing and mindfulness techniques as well as gentle movement.
  • Create, Experiment, & Discover, Thursday, March 2nd at 4pm. Starting this February, we will be offering after school activities every Thursday afternoon from 4-5pm. Activities will vary weekly and will encourage children to express themselves through creative projects and STEAM-based activities, while promoting social and emotional learning.

 

Next Week @ LPL
  • Homeschool Video Game Social, Monday, March 6th at 11:15am. The Children’s Department will be offering weekly programs for homeschool families on the first three Mondays of every month from 11:15am-12:30pm. The programs are designed to offer homeschool families the opportunity to have fun and socialize through gaming, crafts, and storytime.
