What’s New? 
  • We’re Hiring: Part Time Library Assistants.
  • Library Closed Presidents’ Day Weekend. Due to maintenance and upgrades of City technology infrastructure, the Lewiston Public Library will be closed on Saturday, February 17th. The Library will also be closed on Monday, February 19th in observance of Presidents’ Day. We will reopen at 9:30am on Tuesday, February 20th.
  • New Library Displays. Lewiston Public Library has selected some of our favorite works from Black authors from fiction, to graphic novels, to non-fiction that highlight many Black experiences. Come to any floor to see our displays dedicated to Black History Month!

  • Great Falls Forum with Dr. Kanae Tokunaga, Thursday, February 15th at 12pm. Climate Change and the Blue Acceleration in Maine. The 2023-2024 season of the Great Falls Forum continues, featuring Dr. Kanae Tokunaga, Senior Scientist in Coastal and Marine Economics at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.

 

Next Week @ LPL
  • Teen Crafting Circle, Tuesday, February 20th at 3:30pm. Teens, come by after school to relax and make some crafts! The teen crafting circle will offer teens button making, bracelet making, and coloring pages for them to work on! 
  • Sadie’s Fiber Arts Club, Wednesday, February 21st at 3:30pm. Kids will have the opportunity to create a hands-on fiber arts craft with local fiber artist, Sadie, in the Children’s Department at the Library. 
  • Crafting Circle, Wednesday, February 21st at 5pm. Have a craft you started that is now collecting dust? Ever admired a craft and wondered if anyone could teach it to you? Want a second opinion on a template or a crafting kit?
  • Valentine’s Baby Keepsake, Friday, February 23rd at 10am. Caregivers and their young children will be able to create their own version of Maine artist Robert Indiana’s famous stacked LOVE art on canvas using handprints and footprints.

  • The Lost Art of Tea Leaf Reading, Wednesday, February 28th at 11am. What do you see in your cup? Come learn the noble art of divination by tea leaf reading in this fun and informative class.
