What’s New? 
  • Great Falls Forum, Thursday, March 21st at 12pm. “Bates and Lewiston: The Early Years.” Pat Webber, Director of the Edmund Muskie Archives and Special Collections Library at Bates College, will give a talk about the history of Bates and why Lewiston was chosen as the home for the school.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Film on Kanopy. This St. Patrick’s Day, Kanopy is presenting a collection of films from Ireland that celebrate the beauty of the Emerald Isle and its people. So, take a cinematic journey with us today. All you need is your library card.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Display in Children’s. Curious about St. Patrick’s Day? We have a book display in the Children’s Department featuring nonfiction books about St. Patrick as well as picture books about the holiday.

 

This Week @ LPL
  • Little Keepsakes: Headbands & Wraps, Friday, March 15th at 10am. Caregivers will be able to create personalized headbands, wraps, or hats for their young children using a variety of embellishments and materials.
  • Homework Help, Every Thursday at 3pm. Needing some help with your schoolwork? Come to the Lewiston Public Library every Thursday starting February 29th to work alongside Bates tutors from the Harward Center!
  • March Madness with the Masons, happening all March. This March, the Library is bringing the Masonic Lodge literacy program to children in Lewiston and Auburn and to give away brand new bikes and Kindle Fire tablets.

 

Next Week @ LPL
  • Sadie’s Fiber Arts Club, Wednesday, March 20th at 3:30pm. Kids will have the opportunity to create a hands-on fiber arts craft with local fiber artist, Sadie, in the Children’s Department at the Library. 
  • Crafting Circle, Wednesday, March 20th at 5pm. Have a craft you started that is now collecting dust? Ever admired a craft and wondered if anyone could teach it to you? Want a second opinion on a template or a crafting kit? We are hosting a crafting circle for people to come and bring a craft to work on. Come, meet, and learn from like-minded people.
