What’s New? 
  • Bikes on the Ceiling! Submissions are rolling in for March Madness with the Masons. Kids can write a book review for a chance to win a brand new Kindle Fire tablet or bike!
  • Ramadan Display in Children’s Room. Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, introspection and prayer for Muslims taking place from the evening of March 11th to sundown on April 9th this year.

 

This Week @ LPL
  • Sadie’s Fiber Arts Club, Wednesday, March 20th at 3:30pm. Kids will have the opportunity to create a hands-on fiber arts craft with local fiber artist, Sadie, in the Children’s Department at the Library. 
  • Crafting Circle, Wednesday, March 20th at 5pm. Have a craft you started that is now collecting dust? Ever admired a craft and wondered if anyone could teach it to you? Want a second opinion on a template or a crafting kit? We are hosting a crafting circle for people to come and bring a craft to work on. Come, meet, and learn from like-minded people. 
  • Great Falls Forum, Thursday, March 21st at 12pm. “Bates and Lewiston: The Early Years.” Pat Webber, Director of the Edmund Muskie Archives and Special Collections Library at Bates College, will give a talk about the history of Bates and why Lewiston was chosen as the home for the school.
  • March Madness with the Masons, happening all March. This March, the Library is bringing the Masonic Lodge literacy program to children in Lewiston and Auburn and to give away brand new bikes and Kindle Fire tablets.

 

Next Week @ LPL
  • MaineTransNet Teen Tabletop, Monday, March 25th at 4:15pm. We’re hosting a series of one-shot tabletop roleplaying games in person in the IDEA Lab. Supplies will be provided – just bring yourself and your creative mind!
  • Throwback Thursday Movie Matinee, Thursday, March 28th at 4pm. Come enjoy the 1983 classic film, WarGames, where a supercomputer asks a teenage hacker, “Shall we play a game?”, only to learn the stakes were too high a little too late.
