What’s New?
- Summer Reading @ LPL. All ages will use a bookmark to track reading and activities for free books and prizes. Pick up a bookmark at the library, complete the activities listed, and turn it in at the library to be entered into our end-of-summer prize drawings.
- The library will be CLOSED on Thursday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. We will reopen at 9:30am on Friday, June 20th.
- Books Gifted to Local Childcare Centers. BookReach, a free literacy program, recently gifted over 140 books to local, participating childcare centers. Preschoolers received board books and easy reader stories along with fun facts about their volunteer reader to take home.
- New Displays on the 3rd Floor. Gardening, farming, and summer books galore!
This Week @ LPL
- Bumps & Babies, Wednesday, June 18th at 10:30am. Bumps & Babies is a support group that provides a safe, compassionate space for individuals navigating the emotional and physical challenges of pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Next Week @ LPL
- ArtVan, Monday, June 23rd at 3pm. ArtVan is a mobile art program that brings hands-on creative art opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and fun. All of their projects aim to inspire art-making with a variety of materials to explore.
- Adult Beginner Yoga, Tuesday, June 24th at 5:30pm. All sessions are free to attend, and participants should bring their own mats. Due to limited floor space, registration is required.
- Summer Teen & Friends Magic: the Gathering, Thursday, June 26th at 3:30pm. Bring a friend and play against one another or other challengers. New players will be able to receive guidance on how to play and get a chance to receive their very own deck to keep and take home.
- Art Walk L/A, Friday, June 27th at 5pm. Our June display is art created by local students with the prompt “I wish my teacher knew…” The Friends of the Lewiston Public Library will also hold a book sale, where everything is just 10¢ each.
