This community poetry reading will use Maine poetry to explore themes of gender euphoria, a world without gender, and peace for trans people in Maine.

Maya Williams (ey/they/she) is a Black multiracial nonbinary suicide survivor who is currently the seventh poet laureate of Portland, Maine.

Poetry Express is a collaborative poetry performance program of the Maine Humanities Council and the Maine State Library that brings poetry and poets to your community.
